About Founder

Dear Dharma Friends,

It has been four years now since the Nepal Buddhist Association was founded. Within these few years, we have been able to take steps toward the direction aligning our primary vision of rebuilding the monasteries destroyed by the devastating earthquake in Nepal in 2015.

The earthquake that struck Nepal on April 25, 2015, wreaked havoc on the country and its people. I went to numerous earthquake-affected areas in an attempt to help folks who needed relief supplies. I saw monasteries were being demolished at the time, but they were not being cared for. The big earthquake in Nepal devastated a few hundred monasteries. For Buddhists, the spiritual significance of a monastery is priceless. As a result, I aspire to rebuild 108 monasteries in various parts of Nepal, as well as work toward developing a sense of oneness among all Buddhists and enhancing Buddhism.

It's easy to daydream, but it takes the collective effort of people to make a dream - a reality. We have been able to accomplish what we have done so far, thanks to the support of Dharma friends around the world. I am sure that with the initiation of the Nepal Buddhist Association and equal support from the locals, this vision will be accomplished in less time. If we work toward it, anything is achievable.

I pray! I wish! I dream!
